Governance & Independence
Who we are, how we are governed, how we are funded, and why our independence is central to our credibility.
In brief: is CTI independent?
CTI receives financial support from Sanofi, but its content, positions and recommendations remain the independent opinions and responsibility of CTI group members.
What CTI is
The COVID Transition Initiative is an informal, independent, multi-stakeholder, pan-European group of leading experts, patient advocates and policymakers. It exists to strengthen Europe’s approach to endemic COVID-19 by turning expert insight into clear, evidence-based guidance for decision-makers.
Governance
The CTI’s work is organised into three workstreams — Awareness, Adoption and Adaptability — led by its member experts, with two Co-Chairs and a Policymaker Champion. Members contribute independent expertise and are collectively responsible for the initiative’s outputs.
How we work
The CTI develops evidence reviews, policy briefs and commentary across its workstreams, and engages national governments, EU institutions and stakeholders to translate insights into action.
Funding
The work of the CTI is made possible by financial support from Sanofi.
Editorial independence
The content and recommendations of the CTI remain the independent opinions and responsibility of the CTI group members. Funding does not determine the initiative’s conclusions. Independent editorial control ensures all outputs reflect members’ expert opinions, not funder interests.
Members’ responsibility
Members are accountable for the content the initiative produces and lend their names and expertise to its outputs.
Relationship with Sanofi
Sanofi provides the financial support that made the CTI possible. The CTI’s positions and recommendations are the independent responsibility of its members, not of its funder.
